The study was completed by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco and involved 268 pregnant women. The relevant research results were published in the journal “Environmental Health Watch†published by the US academic journal on the 14th.
The study found that almost all pregnant women’s blood and urine contain a variety of harmful chemicals, including flame retardants, pesticides, automotive exhaust pollutants, and phthalates commonly found in cosmetics and plastic products.
The researchers pointed out that a number of studies have demonstrated that many chemicals not only cause adverse effects on the body, but also affect the fetus through the placenta. Previously during the study, some toxic chemicals were found in the umbilical cord.
