Vietnam plans to build a large coal terminal

Vietnam is planning to build a deepwater coal terminal in the western coastal areas to meet future coal import demand. According to forecast, the total demand for coal in Vietnam will increase from 33 million tons in 2015 to 107 million tons in 2025. To cope with the matching needs of power plants, Vietnam New Construction Group is preparing to build a large coal terminal through tender in August this year. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed between 2014 and 2015. The terminal will reliably dock a Panamax bulk carrier and have an annual throughput capacity of 1200. Ten thousand tons. By 2016-2017, after the completion of the second phase of the terminal, the reliable berthing vessel will increase the terminal throughput capacity to 24 million tons. After the completion of the project, the terminal throughput capacity will eventually reach 50 million tons.
