In the metal cutting process, a large amount of heat is generated at the interface between the metal and the tool, and the temperature thereof can reach about 600 to 1000 ° C, which has a great influence on the surface quality, precision, tool life, kinetic energy consumption and production efficiency of the workpiece. In order to reduce the heat of cutting, various cooling methods and cooling media have been adopted in the long-term practice. Cooling methods include ultrasonic cooling, low temperature cooling, and spray cooling. The cooling medium uses water, emulsion, mineral oil, vegetable oil and animal oil, etc. These cooling methods and cooling media are used to varying degrees in the machining industry. However, there are fewer methods of spray cooling. This article mainly introduces the spray cooling device we designed and prototyped.
