The Russian International News Agency reported on April 15 that researchers at the Samara State Research University in Russia have developed the strongest industrial magnetic pulse device in Russia, which can be used to produce large components for aircraft and helicopters.

According to the Press Office of the University of Samara, the magnetic pulse technology of material processing is to convert the electrical energy stored in the drive into a variable magnetic field. Under the action of the alternating magnetic field, the workpiece will undergo plastic deformation. According to Samara researchers, this technology has great potential for giving products a specific shape. The force action on the workpiece is performed remotely without contact, which allows it to handle parts with complex shapes or structures, or parts that need to be polished or painted on the surface, and to melt metal or workpieces in vacuum-sealed containers. It is said that the total stored energy of this device is 80 kilojoules, which is currently Russia's most powerful industrial magnetic pulse device.

Samara National Research University will hand over the completed installation to Novosibirsk State Technical University. Researchers will continue to develop a technology and its applications, and then transfer the technology and magnetic pulse device to Novosibirsk Chkalov Aircraft Factory (Affiliated to Sukhoi Holding Company).
