France's Clufix recently successfully developed decorative fasteners for sheet metal and plastic parts. The new product "Leankeasy" will bring innovative changes to the automotive industry and other manufacturing industries.
Leankeasy rivet bolts are made up of screws and nuts that have been pre-assembled at the time of production and are single and off-the-shelf fastener products. The product is quite unique and can be used to tighten the nuts and screws in a single step for a fastening effect, in addition to significant cost savings, and many other benefits.
Ric Massebeuf explained that Leankeasy represents a new era of fastening assembly work for fastener products. “The first generation of products was originally composed of basic nuts and bolts. The second generation that appeared in the 1920s has been popular since 1945, combining rivet nuts, cage nuts, rivet nuts, and welding snails. Parts such as caps, threaded inserts, etc., which are used to fasten metal sheets by using threaded parts, but the second generation still uses nuts and bolts separately. The third generation now uses Leankeasy technology to combine nuts and bolts. As one of the most important changes, the second generation does not only need to use the two parts of the nut and the bolt separately, but can only be divided into two steps. The nut must be assembled before entering the final assembly procedure. In contrast, the third generation of Leankeasy can be done in a single part and in a single step.
Ric Massebeuf added: "Leankeasy's innovative technology has revolutionized the way it has been assembled over the past 90 years, and it has surprised many people." The product is very easy to use, requires no installation equipment, and requires a relatively small number of assembly parts. More importantly, the cost (including labor costs and costs involved in the manufacturing process) is greatly reduced by more than 50%, so the average total cost can be saved by 35%.
The main target markets for Leankeasy products sold in the first phase are France, Germany, Italy and the UK. Clufix plans to sell the product to the US automotive industry in 2015.
