I. Understand the danger of falling

BLS (Bureau of Labor Safety)

1. Accumulated since 1999 , the crash was the second leading cause of death in the United States and the leading cause of construction accidents.

2, 2007, a total of more than 100,000 severely disabled from an accident caused by a fall, 767 of which were fatal

3 , more than 60% of falling accidents occurred in the following places: scaffolding / roof / ladder

3. The UK Health and Safety Executive Committee (HSE) : According to statistics from 2003/2004 , there are about 4,000 major crashes each year , of which 67 are fatal accidents.

II. Statistics on Laoan accidents - Falling into the second most serious accident

Third, to know the danger of falling

we know:

Falling is one of the most frequent accidents at home and abroad.

Falling is a very serious Lao accident - most likely to result in death

Falling accidents are likely to happen to your colleagues

A fall accident is likely to happen to you

but:

Drop damage is completely avoided!

Employers are responsible for providing employees with a complete fall protection plan, equipment and training.

However, only the active cooperation and efforts of all employees can achieve zero casualties.

The goal!

Fourth, what is the fall protection?

1 , fall protection

Fall protection refers to the protective measures taken to prevent workers from falling from high places and may cause severe personal injury due to falling.

In safety regulations, "high places" are defined as working positions with a free fall distance of more than 2 meters .

When the free drop distance is less than 2 meters and there is still a possibility of causing serious personal injury to the fallen person, fall protection measures are also needed.

2, personal fall protection system

A personal fall protection system is a set of products necessary to connect a worker with a fixed hanging point, which can completely prevent falling from a high place or completely prevent the occurrence of such a situation.

Using these products alone does not provide protection from falling. However, if these components are well-grouped together, they will form a personal fall protection system that is extremely important to the safety of the workplace and the overall fall protection plan.

3 , buffer tether

Application: The working position is relatively fixed and does not require large horizontal or vertical movements. Be aware that the buffer will open a long distance, so it is recommended to use it at a height of 6 meters or more.

4 , limit tether

Application: Work area restrictions prevent workers from reaching dangerous areas and cannot be used for high altitude crashes .

5 , double tether

Application: Use at a short distance from a high altitude without losing protection.

6 , falling brake

Application: Need to be used in a wide range of horizontal or vertical movements.

7 personal fall limiter

Application: The required working position is used for short-distance movements, the headwall clearance is not very high, or there are obstacles that can cause injury to the lower level.

8 , grasping rope device

Application: Use when working in a large area, such as climbing a ladder or hanging a work.

V. Fall protection system

Full body harness : personal protection products worn by workers .

Its role is to pull workers in the event of a fall,   So that it will not be injured, it will not slip off the seat belt.

The only acceptable form of seat belt protection in a fall protection system is a full body harness.

This should be based on the work performed and the work environment to choose.

Each hanging point on the seatbelt must be able to withstand a static load of more than 15KN for 3 minutes ( EN361 and E358 ).

1 , the use of full body harness

Application: The most common form of seat belts can be used in almost any fall prevention situation. The rear D -ring is the hanging point recommended on the seat belt!

2 , the use of full-body seat belts - belts with seat belts

Application: Need to achieve work positioning, but also need to prevent falling.

3 , seat belt inspection

After each use ( user )

Every 6 months ( professional security )

If used in harsh environments, more frequent inspections are required. ( Professional )

According to local regulations

Do not use the seat belt if you have any questions about the safety of the seat belt.

It must be destroyed before it is discarded to prevent it being used again!

4 , altitude rescue RDD

Automatic descent device: for emergency escape at high altitude or for rescue from high altitude crash.

(DCM, or Methylene Chloride) is an organic compound with the formula CH2Cl2. This colorless, volatile liquid with a moderately sweet aroma is widely used as a solvent. Although it is not miscible with water, it is miscible with many organic solvents. One of the most well-known applications of Dichloromethane is in the drinking bird heat engine.

DCM's volatility and ability to dissolve a wide range of organic compounds makes it a useful solvent for many chemical processes.

It is widely used as a paint stripper and a degreaser. In the food industry, it has been used to decaffeinate coffee and tea as well as to prepare extracts of hops and other flavorings. Its volatility has led to its use as an aerosol spray propellant and as a blowing agent for polyurethane foams.
