The reporter learned from senior Yunnan Aluminum executives that the Laotian project has begun preparations and is currently implementing conditions for start-up. It plans to start production in the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”.

The Laos Project is one of Yunnan Aluminum's implementation of the strategy of “expanding both ends and optimizing the middle” transformation and upgrading and participating in international capacity cooperation. Jiao Yun, party secretary of Yunnan Aluminum Co., Ltd. introduced that after implementing the “cage-for-bird replacement” project, the Yangzonghai production area will promote the construction of a deep processing industry innovation park, a Kunming sub-center logistics hub, and a special equipment manufacturing base around hydropower. The aluminum industry project has rationally laid out aluminum processing new material industry projects, forming an aluminum processing new material industrial cluster with obvious competitive advantages, and building a deep processing industry base for aluminum. Strive to use 3-5 years to build YunAl headquarters into a comprehensive innovation park integrating R&D and manufacturing.

According to the current progress, a number of new materials industry projects will be launched within the next two years. The 0.0045/0.005 mm ultra-thin aluminum foil project will be partially put into production this year and will be fully operational next year. Jiao Yun said that the special equipment manufacturing base is expected to be put into use in batches by the end of this year.

It was also learned that in line with the trend of lightweight development of automobile wheels, automobile radiators, automotive suspensions, and other aluminum alloy terminal parts, a series of new alloys, battery foils, capacitor foils, automotive aluminum alloy wheels, and automotive aluminum were developed. The market for high-end end products such as wood will be the next major area for development of Yun aluminum.
