In the second quarter of this year, the provincial quality and technical supervision department conducted a comprehensive quality inspection on 40 batches of flooring products from 34 enterprises operating within the province. The results revealed that two batches of products failed to meet the required standards. The primary issue was related to the static bending strength, which is a crucial mechanical property for impregnated paper laminated wood flooring. It measures the product's ability to withstand pressure and load.
According to national standards, the static bending strength should be at least 35.0 MPa. However, the unqualified products tested had values of only 26.8 MPa and 28.2 MPa, significantly below the required level. This deficiency can lead to structural weakness in the flooring during use, making it more prone to cracking or breaking under external forces. As a result, the durability and lifespan of the product may be severely compromised.
The investigation also pointed out that substandard raw materials and improper manufacturing processes were key contributing factors to the poor performance of these products. The Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision has since advised the public to avoid purchasing these two specific batches when undertaking home decoration projects.
