1. **Aphids**: Apply 10% imidacloprid at a dilution of 3,000 times or 50% anti-Converse WP at 5,000 times. These solutions can be sprayed directly onto the plants to control infestations.
2. **Cucurbits and Spodoptera litura (cabbage worm)**: Use 2.5% Kung Fu emulsifiable concentrate at 3,000 times, 5% Taibao at 1,500 times, 15% Hit suspension at 3,500–4,000 times, 1% insecticidal soap at 3,000 times, or 5% Ruijinte suspension at 2,500–3,000 times. These options provide effective control when applied regularly.
3. **Powdery Mildew**: Treat with 15% triazolone wettable powder at 1,000 times, 40% myclobutanil at 1,500–2,000 times, 10% high water dispersible granules at 1,500 times, or 40% Fuxing emulsifiable concentrate at 4,000 times. Repeat every 7 days, and consider rotating pesticides to prevent resistance.
4. **Blight (Vulgaris)**: Apply high-concentration metalaxyl directly to the stems and use foliar sprays. Recommended options include 25% metalaxyl WP at 750–1,000 times, 50% chlorhexidine WP at 1,000 times, 70% thiophanate-methyl WP at 600 times, or 75% chlorothalonil WP at 600 times.
5. **Anthracnose**: Use 80% mancozeb wettable powder at 600–800 times or 50% methyl thiophanate at 500 times. For charcoal rot, apply 600–800 times of the same product.
6. **Viral Diseases**: The pesticide network recommends using 20% virus A wettable powder at 500 times, 2% viral spirit at 1,000 times, or 1.5% plant disease control agent at 1,000 times. Apply every 7–10 days, and repeat up to 2–3 times if necessary. Also, pay attention to mite prevention as they can spread viruses.
By following these guidelines, farmers can better manage pest and disease outbreaks, ensuring healthier crops and higher yields. Always read and follow the label instructions carefully before applying any pesticide.
