Abstract The 2013 National Enterprise Management Innovation Conference, jointly organized by the China Enterprise Confederation, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the Industrial Policy Division, and the SMEs Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, took place in Beijing on March 31. Zhu Hong, a member of the Party group and Chief Engineer at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the event and delivered an important speech.
In his address, Zhu Hong emphasized that as the country enters a new stage of industrial development, enterprises must embrace new challenges and opportunities. He called for full implementation of the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with a focus on scientific development as the core principle. This includes accelerating the transformation of the economic model and adhering to the path of industrialization and informatization tailored to China's unique conditions. He also highlighted the importance of promoting industrial upgrading through innovation and technological advancement.
Zhu further stressed that the key to implementing an innovation-driven development strategy lies within enterprises themselves. Companies must prioritize internal growth through innovation, including technological advancements, management improvements, institutional reforms, and new business models. By enhancing the level of enterprise management and modernization, businesses can boost their competitiveness and overall value creation.
During the conference, the 19th National Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Achievements were announced, featuring a total of 197 projects—30 of which received first-class recognition and 167 were awarded second-class honors. Representatives from over 600 enterprises, along with industry experts from across the country, participated in the event. Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Industrial Policy and SMEs Divisions also attended, underscoring the significance of this annual gathering in driving enterprise innovation and progress.
