Main fire safety technical measures for painting operations

(1) The spray room should be equipped with an appropriate ventilation and purification system.

(2) The spray room body and the air supply and exhaust pipes connected to it shall be made of non-combustible materials. The ground shall be made of materials that do not generate sparks, or be covered with materials that will not produce sparks.

(3) Explosion-proof electrical equipment, facilities, instruments, and meters shall be selected for the spray booth according to the appropriate explosion-proof rating.

(4) All metal parts in the spray booth, such as exhaust ducts, air supply ducts and ducts conveying flammable liquids, must have reliable electrical grounding.

(5) Electrostatic grounding is provided for equipment and pipelines that handle paints, thinners, etc. The grounding device for destaticizing the static electricity should be provided for the ventilation system.

(6) Set combustible gas detection and alarm devices where there is a risk of leakage of combustible gas, so that alarms can be given in time.

(7) The blower, pump, motor, filter and other parts that are matched with the spraying equipment are prone to faults, and should be matched with audible or acousto-optic combination alarm devices and linked with the paint spraying power source.

(8) A fire-fighting sign shall be set between the paint booths and equipped with adequate fire-fighting equipment.

(9) Materials used in painting operations must not come into contact with the skin. Protective clothing, protective glasses or long tube masks should be used to isolate the human body ( operators should wear personal protective equipment correctly ) .

(10) At least one ventilation system performance technical measurement and electrical safety technology measurement shall be performed in the painting room at least once a year, and the results shall be recorded in the archives.

(11) Spray paint operators must receive professional paint training and safety training before they can take up posts. Unrelated personnel are not allowed to enter the paint booth. Persons entering the company must strictly carry out fire prevention and explosion prevention education.
