On this day, the sixth National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day, Wenzhou City held a special ceremony to honor the 21 "Most Beautiful Firefighters" who were recently selected. Deputy leaders of the Wenzhou Municipal Committee, including Ma Xiaohui, Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, Hu Jianjin, Standing Committee Member of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, and Huang Baokun, Director of the Public Security Bureau, attended the event and presented awards to the honored firefighters.
As a city with a highly developed market economy, Wenzhou is home to numerous small and medium-sized enterprises, which have created many fire hazards. The fire situation in Zhejiang Province is largely influenced by Wenzhou. Since May 2009, the Wenzhou Public Security Fire Department has been working tirelessly to establish a new order for social fire safety, achieving the most stable fire conditions and the fewest fire-related deaths in recent years. Their efforts have led to zero growth in major fire incidents, marking significant progress.
The Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department and the Municipal Public Security Fire Bureau jointly organized the selection of the "Most Beautiful Firefighters." Through personal applications, organizational recommendations, expert evaluations, and final reviews by the organizing committee, 21 outstanding individuals were chosen. These include active-duty officers, professional firefighters who risk their lives in dangerous situations, civilian employees and contract firefighters who show unwavering dedication, public educators who raise awareness, and volunteers and community members who support firefighting initiatives.
At the ceremony, Wu Xingrong, head of the Wenzhou Municipal Public Security Fire Bureau, emphasized the importance of honoring these heroes and building a fire department that earns the trust and respect of the people.
