Fireproof shutter fire door fire window construction and acceptance specifications submitted

In accordance with the "Notice on the Establishment and Revision of the National Project Standards for Construction in 2002" (Jianbiao [2002] No. 85) and the "Reconsideration of the Agreed Adjustment of the Content and Name of the Fire Protection Regulations" issued by the former Ministry of Construction (Building Standard Letter [2007] No. 58), the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security convened a review meeting for the national standard "Code for the Construction and Acceptance of Fire Shutters, Fire Doors, and Fire Windows" (Draft for Review) on January 14, 2009, in Beijing. A total of 22 experts from government agencies, research institutions, fire protection companies, and public security fire departments attended the meeting. Representatives from the Department of Standardization at the Ministry of Construction and the Standards and Norms Division of the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security were also present and delivered speeches during the event.

The meeting formed a review expert committee and reviewed the normative work report submitted by the preparation team. Delegates carefully examined the provisions of the draft and generally approved it, while offering valuable suggestions and recommendations for further improvements. They emphasized that the preparation team had followed relevant national laws, regulations, and technical standards when developing the specification. The document was based on practical experience gained from recent acceptance inspections of fire shutters, fire doors, and fire windows, and took into account the performance characteristics of various product types. It provided targeted measures to enhance the quality of acceptance processes.

The content of the specification aligns well with current construction needs and is consistent with existing national standards. It is considered advanced, scientifically sound, economically feasible, and easy to implement. Once finalized and published, this standard is expected to play a significant role in improving the acceptance procedures and daily maintenance of fire shutters, fire doors, and fire windows, thereby ensuring the fire safety of construction projects. The meeting urged the preparation team to carefully consider the feedback received and make further revisions to the specification before its final release.
