India will build a Twin Towers capable of purifying the air

Recently, several architects have introduced the concept of using skyscrapers to clean the air. While many find this idea hard to believe, India is actually planning to build such a structure in Mumbai. The project, called Grove Towers, is being developed by the Danish firm 3XN. This innovative twin-tower design draws inspiration from trees—not just in its complex structure, but also in its ability to purify the air like a real tree.

The secret lies in the large internal garden that spans across both towers. This green space acts as a natural air filter, helping to reduce carbon dioxide levels in the surrounding area. The two towers stand at 136 meters tall, with 38 floors and a total area of 77,000 square meters. At the base of the towers, there's a shopping mall that can also serve as private residences. The building’s design promotes natural ventilation, allowing it to stay cool without excessive energy use.

The project includes a 2,500-square-meter garden, which is expected to significantly improve air quality in the city. 3XN is confident that this design will not only be visually stunning but also environmentally beneficial. The towers are set to be completed by 2017, and the company hopes their vision will gain international recognition and win awards for innovation in sustainable architecture.
